There are far more than just one person in the world with it and not all of them are in third world countries - there are quite a few recorded cases in both the US and Australia. In fact, I operated on a lady in her 60's just last year with this condition in Australia. I have also cared for people who just have the thoracic organs reversed (Dextrocardia). Some people just have Dextrocardia, some people have Situs Inversus, some people have Dextrocardia with Situs Inversus, which the man in the article had. A lot of people don't know they have the condition because it doesn't usually affect the persons every day health. It is usually discovered accidentally during a routine examination. I think what is unique about this man, was the fact he had 2 livers, one on either side, not that he actually had Dextrocardia with Situs Invertus.<br />I enjoyed reading this page.
